Under development
These are the projects I’ve been working on most recently. Some already work, some are early prototypes, and a few may join the graveyard. Most of the code is private, so this page describes each one briefly.
Apps
Overlap
Private pilot
Make a map of what you’re curious about from your saved X posts and compare it with a friend’s. Overlap matches people on the themes in what they save, so you can find people who’d enjoy the same conversations, while the posts themselves stay private. Nothing is shared unless you choose it.
Clubbr
Live on the web; iPhone app in development
A web app and iPhone client for Brooklyn club nights. Find shows, keep a private log of the nights you go to, and piece together the tracklist of a DJ set with the rest of the crowd, using listener reviews to help identify each track. Tracklists for club sets rarely exist otherwise. If you want, it can also introduce you to people who were at the same night.
Wellness workspace
In development
An opinionated, white-label AI wellness coach built on Paul Chek’s teachings and methods. Its coaching topics and lessons are my own adaptations of his material, and it runs on the web, on iPhone and inside ChatGPT. My own coaching practice uses it, and so do other CHEK practitioners.
Recursive Self-Improvement Calendar
Prototype
A learning planner that works backwards from long-term goals to a task for today, then adjusts its suggestions from daily check-ins.
World modeling app
Idea stage
An app for consilience: building a shared model of how the world works, and finding where people’s evidence and views converge.
Tools
YouTube caption CLI
Working
Saves transcripts for a video, a channel or a playlist as markdown. When a video has no captions, or when an exact transcript matters, it transcribes the audio on my Mac instead. I use it daily to build RAG archives from my favorite YouTube channels.
Anki Local
Prototype
Spaced repetition without writing the cards. A coding agent reads my notes and drafts flashcards, and I study them in a quiet, keyboard-first interface made for an e-ink screen. The newer study app on my personal server does this from my phone too: agents draft cards there, and I accept the ones I want.
Page Reminders
Working
A Chrome extension that brings back a page, or an exact X post, at a time I choose.
Hardware and experiments
Peanut butter mixer
Design stage
A USB-C powered crank that stirs a jar of natural peanut butter through a compatible replacement lid from a company that already makes them. The parts are sourced and the printable CAD is drawn; nothing has been printed or tested yet.
E-ink lab
Ongoing
I’m a big e-ink fan. I notice a significant improvement in how clearly I think when I’m learning or working on it. It helps me sustain longer stretches of screen time and supports my circadian rhythm. That’s why I’m experimenting with working only from an e-ink tablet, with the heavy computing on a remote server. I send a well-formed request, let an agent work, and come back to read the result.
